Hyderabad, Jul 5 (UNI) Union Minister for Civil Aviation,Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu will lay the foundation stone for Civil Aviation Research organisation (CARO) at Begumpet Airport here on Thursday evening. In a bid to meet the aggressive air traffic growth, Airports Authority of India (AAI) is establishing the state-of-the-art world class R & D Center in about 27 acres with an estimated cost of Rs 1200 crore at Begumpet Airport to develop in-house Research Capabilities in the field of Airport and Air Navigation services. As a first step towards this, AAI had earlier entered an MoU with Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT), to take up collaborative research on Air Navigation Systems. This would support AAI in addressing aviation infrastructure and air traffic management challenges for the common good of Indian Economy. Later, Mr Prabhu will also inaugurate Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) campus at Gachibowli in the city. It is the leading institute in India for Human Resource and Infrastructure development for the footwear industry, and it is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
